Born in the Philippines and based in Singapore, singer-songwriter and visual artist Marian Carmel brings feel good indie-pop music for the delusional and hopeless romantics who just wanna dance!

Her lively and energetic tunes are influenced by the story-driven songwriting styles of Chappell Roan, beabadoobee, Olivia Rodrigo, and NIKI. She has just released her sophomore project, ‘what if nobody kisses me?’, and returned from her first regional tour ‘The Lilypad Tour’ (with lewloh and RENE). Across Singapore, Taiwan, and Manila, ‘ The Lilypad Tour’ has had multiple sold-out shows in July of this year.

Together with the release of her latest EP, Marian Carmel hosted Singapore’s FIRST Rollerskating Concert on 27 September. Imagine prom on wheels - the audiences enjoyed a live performance of the EP in its entirety, followed by a rollerskating session to a DJ mix by Charlie Kurata. It was an unforgettable night for her community, full of colour, glittery fun, and good music.

In 2023, Marian released numerous singles and collaborations as a part of the Spotify RADAR Programme. The artist was also featured as Spotify EQUAL’s cover artist of the month, representing women in Singapore and Malaysia. This landed her on the New York Times Square Billboard, and on the Spotify EQUAL Global Playlist.

In the tail end of 2022, Marian toured the Philippines with AOR Global and ABS-CBN’s Starpop PH for their mental health-focused campaign. Her song “Wish That I Could Tell Me” was produced and written with Jonathan Manalo - the most streamed Filipino songwriter and producer of all time. During this tour, she performed for Manalo’s star-studded 20th Music Anniversary Concert alongside the Philippines’ most outstanding performers including KZ Tandingan, Morissette, Moira dela Torre, Piolo Pascual and more.

Marian’s bubbly personality and versatility shines through across genres. She was featured in back-to-back releases with RENE, lewloh, Dominic Chin, Evanturetime, renown Southeast Asian rapper Akeem Jahat, and Paris-based producer Charlie. Throughout her journey, Marian has worked under the guidance of artist-mentors like prominent Filipino singer-songwriter Reese Lansangan (Levi's Music Project 2022), and Cultural Medallion recipient Charlie Lim (The Great Singapore Replay by Temasek).

Having released a significant body of work through the years, Marian Carmel’s debut album “to you, to me”, and sophomore EP “what if nobody kisses me?” has solidified her position in the region as one of the most promising singer-songwriters and topliners from the Philippines and Singapore.
